21...a number many below that would yearn for...A number for freedom, a number for independence and a number that also tells you, whatever you sign or oblige to, U take full responsibility..

I spent my 21 sitting on a water buffalo thinking of things like this..The past few birthdays were an encouragement that its one more year to FREEDOM!but when i finally reach it..Reality unveils itself like a lecturer who kindly informs the students that this final exam will decide their future..well the feeling of wishing this had not happened and all the ways like finding ways to get a fever lingers in your mind...that was what happened on my 21,as much as i knew exams are here, i have to work hard on my own..

Its been a long time again that i have been updating this blog..well, i have been through many things since then...Exams, outings overseas, and again a deeper understanding in psychology, counseling and love relations for life...by asking as many as i can on so many people of many ages, i realized how immature i am in handling, managing and developing a relationship...through many advices and experiences of those who have went through that path, all have this common theory which i took back...

Many use to think that Love is whoa! that feeling that makes your heart tingle when you see that person's eyes, the joy when he/she cares for you, treats you well, understands you, agrees with you and even willing to stay that extra hour to listen and comfort you...when you first hold that person's hand, an electric shock flows through veins for hours even through the night in your dreams!! i used to think and mentality...looking back after countless arguments, the meaning of love becomes questionable and you wonder again, did i love that person?Oh wait, what is love again?

Love is not a fantasy or perfection in which every need is met, but sharing a life together, striving to meet each other's needs as best we can. Forgiving our partners for the mistakes and accepting their limitations can be just as fulfilling as appreciating their many gifts and successes. just as it was difficult for her to live with a man who didn't live up to her expectations, it was challenging for Puneh to meet up with his wife's fantasy of a perfect relationship...

Just as women need to let go of expecting men to be perfect, men too need to let go of the expection that women think we are perfect...After hearing from him, i realised the years he had to take to come up with that advice...

One thing i've learnt is that True love doesen't demand Perfection but rather embraces imperfection....

She needs Him for Romantic Companionship,
She needs him to be faithful,
She needs him make the first move,
She needs him for a simple Companionship,
She doesn't want him to be elaborate and complicated,
She needs him for financial Backup,
She needs him to be around coz she wants to be safer,
She needs to have someone to share the fun times with her,
She needs him to listen, share and care about her well being,
She needs him to miss her when hes away,
She needs him when she cries,
She needs him to eventually help her raise the family if they have children,
She needs him to share the responsibilities of caring for the Nest,
She needs him to fix things when they break.

Those are what i hear from 200 respondents who told me what they need in a guy the most...I realized that women these days need men more than ever, as much as they want to be independent and controlling, they will eventually come to the fact that both will need each other!!many women need men in different ways... Men can provide any assistance that she needs in coping stress but i realized that women these days don't know how to get this support and appreciate it properly when it is available!!! Based on their need, they tend to focus on what they don't have and not appreciating what the guy is already providing...

I've learnt that its so simple...When she learns to appreciate what the man already offers, SHE holds the key to asking for more in small increments to get the supoort she needs and deserves...To me, its not all about strategies but rather this is also what Love is all about=)

A couple who have been in a marriage for 40 years once told me, after making love, he asked her what the experience was? she replied much better than the first time..Why?

Because, they have been tru 40 years of qurrelling, bad times, fun times, sad times, challenging times and all sorts...through the potrayal of flaws and incapacities, they still love each other=)

Definitely one of my Lifetime GOALS!!

THE NEW YEAR HAS COME!!!

Whow its been long since I've updated this blog...many events & occasions have happened since then and it has been straining me like Squeezing the contents out of a chicken while its still alive!!looking back, i've learnt so many things from leadership to discipleship and most importantly learning how to better communicate with God!!

Well i can dare say that through this year, He has answered a prayer that was burning in me in 2007; i hoped to see this youth ministry double its size and continue to grow in faith, true enough, He has been faithful, since ignition of about 80 youths, we have grown to about 150 in camps alone!!As of today, when i went into the chapel, i could barely find an empty seat!!I was happily standing!!!

Anyway, this year is gonna be challenging for me, its gonna be a major transition, i have to complete many of the remaining projects and finalize my thesis on psychology and love relations for Life!!....

And oh yah, Pes A!!!many have sent their condolences and best wishes...no worries, I will Survive!!time to kill some quails!!

Ever sat with a bunch of strangers in their sixties knowing that they are related to you? Well thats what happened to me when my Grandma brought me to her elder brother's son's wedding whom i've never seen in my life time.

Being the eldest and first born Sng, I've been heavily 'utilized' by my grand ma when it comes to functions like these coz most of my aunts and uncles won't want to go and either my dad or i have to represent the family..My Grand ma has 10 siblings and imagine if each bore on average 8 in the family and after that bore on average 2-3!! Plug us out and place us in an island and we could create Sngapore!!

but anyway, i really had fun there!! the minute i went to the restaurant, all the seniors would mold my face and keep chanting" WHOA Le Si Ah Tao(my dad's nick name) eh Kia ah!!whoa Jing Nhia leh..."
The last time they saw me was when i was speaking in tongues and running naked around the house not knowing what the world was...

They have thought me so many things and gave me a HISTORY lesson of my family=) The atmosphere of awkwardness slowly moved to an atmosphere of knowing more about our lost ones...they gave me a GEOGRAPHY practical of where they used to live and what that place has become now...Soon, they moved on to HOME ECONS on the different ways of cooking fish as they used to be fisherman. Finally before the wedding dinner was over, they sum up 50 years of experience into a half an hour PHILOSOPHY lesson.

Well, picking up a conversation with a senior is certainly a skill and requires a lot of patience..But overall, these bunch of strangers whom i used to call them, are now my grand uncles.

IN CHEMISTRY, HE TURNED WATER TO WINE.
IN BIOLOGY, HE WAS BORN WITHOUT THE NORMAL CONCEPTION,
IN PHYSICS, HE DISPROVED THE LAW OF GRAVITY WHEN HE ASCENDED INTO HEAVEN
IN ECONOMICS, HE DISPROVED THE LAW OF DIMINISHING RETURN BY FEEDING 5000 MEN WITH TWO FISHES & 5 LOAVES OF BREAD
IN MEDICINE, HE CURED THE SICK AND THE BLIND WITHOUT ADMINISTERING A SINGLE DOSE OF DRUGS
IN HISTORY, HE IS THE BEGINNING AND THE END
IN GOVERNMENT, HE SAID THAT HE SHALL BE CALLED WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, PRINCE OF PEACE
IN RELIGION, HE SAID NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH HIM

He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives TODAY!!

Who is this person?
he is my father, he is my friend, he is my teacher, he is my advisor, he is my refuge, he is my King, he is Jesus.

Can you imagine what it is like to cross the vast ocean? For weeks you see nothing but the horizon, perfect and empty. You live in the grip of fear; fear of storms, fear of sickness on board, fear of the immensity.

So u drive that fear down deep into your belly, Study your charts, watch your compass and pray for a calm fair wind, and HOPE, that pure, naked and fragile HOPE.

At first it’s no more than a haze on the horizon, So you watch...Then it’s a smudge, a shadow on the far water, for a day, for another day. The stain slowly spreads along the horizon taking form until the third day, you let yourself believe. You dare to whisper the word- LAND, life! Resurrection, the true adventure coming out of the vast unknown, out of the immensity, into new life, into the new World.

Thou Shall Have No Other Food Before Me!!

Ever looked at a kid and see his/her innocence? How they express themselves?At a young age, without thought or comprehension, they say I'm sorry, or I Love you to you because they know you have showered your love on them.
As they grow older and come into a relationship, they tend not to express that much because of the fear of affecting the other person's feelings and find it very 'EEEeee' to say it...

As much as Men like me hate to admit, we to an extent are also emotional beings..The thing the prevents us from saying it out or expressing it is- E.G.O...I've realized that generally, men like me want women to pamper and show their affections to us but not want to admit it openly...All you need to do is swallow your big ass ego and say I'm sorry, i love you and you'll turn her storm into calm seas.

Ymlc was extraordinary..!!I have lost 3 days worth of proper exercising but i've gained 10 years worth of knowledge to Exercice!It has opened my eyes to many things unseen or usually unspoken of in the Methodist church.
The one thing that hit hard on me in this confrence was fruitfullness(the evidence of discipleship), Pastor Boon Hup was talking about making other disciples not being incorrect but IMCOMPLETE; we are reproducing ourselves, not God.If we are spirit led, we should be producing the fruits of the spirit Right=)

Anyway, going to have my 12 hour of slumber...I have Been Revived!!

Its like a flu bug..it spreads like wild fire causing a great symphony of sneezes throughout everyone...thats whats going on with my projects...this week is the completion week with reportS to hand up and presentationS to be made IN FORMAL...2 weeks later, Exams...well no one would want this kind of timing where projects and exams happen in the same month and term...

At least a ScArY and fun time at the Kallang ice skating with Precious and her other half mitigated the stress!! Imagine all the Mitsubishis, Lamborghinis and Porshes at the skating ring!!...I'm the tour bus...Most importantly, Abel enjoyed!!
